apply For

We provide opportunities for Gypsy and Traveller people in the UK to develop innovative projects which, informed by their own lived experience, have the potential to improve the lives of nomadic people across the UK.

Organisations and individual members of our network and Gypsy and Traveller people not yet joined are invited to apply for funding opportunities through Moving for Change. Each project funded by Moving for Change helps deliver positive outcomes for nomadic Gypsies and Travellers and work towards our aims.

Our aims are:

  1. To empower Gypsy and Traveller communities to take positive actions to uphold their rights and responsibilities.
  2. To develop and share innovative practice.
  3. To positively influence public discourse and social policy to initiate system change.

Current Funding Opportunities

Micro Projects

From March 28th, 2022, network members and people living roadside or on sites are invited to apply for our Micro Project funding.

Each project is worth £500 and there are two types you can apply for:

1) Celebrating Gypsy, Roma, Traveller History Month, June 2022;

2) ‘My journey to the Fair or Drive’, summer 2022.

Celebrating Gypsy, Roma, Traveller History Month

Projects celebrating History Month are to fund celebration events during History Month this June. The celebration can take any form you would like, for example an open day on site, a picnic or party day for children. Successful applicants will need to provide video or images of the funded event.

My journey to the Fair or Drive

Projects for ‘My journey to the Fair or Drive’ are to film, photograph or document your journey to a Fair or Drive this summer. This journey can be to any Drive or Fair including Appleby, St Boswells or any other Fair or Drive. The journey must take place between June and August. The funds can be put towards any expenses needed to produce the journal. Successful applicants will be given support from Moving for Change to record these journals, which will then be published on our website and social media.
